Do you guys think a tattoo is a good idea?

For a long time now I've been wanting one on my wrist, but I don't know if I should do it. Since I'm 16 now, my parents are still a little so-so about it. My dad is more against it though. I'm just worried that I won't like it, I want "Fireheart" written in some type of black fancy script writing and that's it. I'm having doubts... what are your feelings on tattoo's?
