What are my chances of getting into grad school?

Recently I have graduated from college with a B.S in psychology. Unfortunately, due to many foreseen circumstances I only graduated with a 2.6 GPA. I had recently talked to my college adviser and he advised me to still apply to grad school since the last two years my grades had an upward trend(3.0 and higher each semester). I feel somewhat at a loss. I want to continue onward to grad school and continue my education. Any insight from someone on here would be great. Thank you.
