Alot of white discharge,no itching,no irritation?

I went to the doctor yesterday and had a pap smear done and the doctor gave me a prescription for a yeast infection and one for bacterial vaginosis.I started my first dose last night for the yeast but what my question here is have you ever heard of a yeast infection with no itching or irritation? The doctor was not positive it was yeast and gave me another script for bacterial vaginosis IF the excessive discharge does not go away.
